I played around with it for a couple of days and eventually just deleted it from
my HD. It had all sorts of problems and didn't live up to the hype of being the
most powerful database around. I wonder just how they figured that? I had
problems with the windows also as a good portion of the contents was hidden and
the windows couldn't be resized. Turned out that it was "my" fault and had to
reset the size of my fonts. Right, I use 1024x768 resolution and my must set it
in 'squint' mode (I'll squint to read my screen) just to use the program. I
HATED the fact that it could be used directly while playing on ICC or FICS,
allowing one to cheat indiscriminately, and found this appalling. Furthermore,
the interface was extremely poor, and wouldn't allow one to lift a piece while
waiting for another player's move, thus making bullet games or the last seconds
of any game as good as lost. You might claim that it is a database first, but
when it's touted features are Internet connectivity then I disagree. Impossible
to judge many of it's features as a great number were de-activated (it claimed
that the onle one was saving games, but this turned out to be completely
untrue). Search speed? No idea, unless I'm supposed to guess this from the 2000
game databases included. How well does it import .cbf files or others? No idea.
In other words I AM supposed to judge a book by it's cover, and as you can well
imagine, that's not about to happen.
