I know that player, "Father" (P.Restrepo) from Playchess' engine room. He does the trick very skillfully, with many draws, or even wins on time (when the move bonus was zero). He said, Ruffian is a specifically tough opponent for that, probably being one of the most aggressive engines. Nevertheless, he loses the majority of his anticomputer games and the percentage currently is only ~26%. But that contains 50 wins in the last 219 games against the engine room opposition! IMO he's of course not trying to produce chess masterpieces, but to demonstrate anticomputer skills and explore that type of weaknesses of the programs, and I think his successes at this are respectable.
