Why are you implementing your own interface to the chess engine when so many
free engines support the winboard/xboard and/or UCI interfaces?

If you truly MUST create your own GUI-to-engine communication protocol, then
you're going to have a tough time finding an engine author who is willing to
take the time to support it.
