Hello: I have a few questions. I bought the above chess set closs to 20 years
ago. I stopped playing for quite awhile and was wondering how does it rate today
and if I wanted something equivalent or better (price under $250.) what should I
be looking for? Since this set is ancient and I have desperately tried to find
an answer on how to use the "check mate in so many moves feature" would anyone
know where I could find a manual? Before I bought the 1850 I went through the
1650 finally finding some loopholes to exploit but the 1850 can-in my opinion-be
a pretty shrewd "thinker" for its day. I am just now using truly weird
stratigies that it seems not to respond or defend itself immediately as opposed
to any traditional strategy which with one mistake it will quickly turn into
Packman! I still have not figured out if it is programmed to win by atrition,
which it often seems to do, so I try to bate it into letting it go after one
piece at a time with hopes of a quick kill, or-which it does not appear- is it
programmed to try to checkmate you as expedient as possible. Either way it is
pretty amazing or am I not that good? It has certainly tought me alot and I
always crush the average player when I get to play a person in which I play as
reckless and agressive as possible since I do not have that luxury against the
1850. Well there were some questions in there and since this is my 1st posting I
got a little carried away. Ninja824
