Hi John I had a Tandy 1850, which I think is the same. I think the manufacturer would like you to think it plays at 1850elo. However I would estimate it plays around 1300-1400elo at best. It actually beat my Novag Ruby at 1min a move each once. The Novags are not very good at handling time "per min" time controls and play much better at "game in" time control. I found the Tandy 1850 played quite a solid middle game but a poor end game. Unfortunately I gave this m/c away to a budding chess player and no longer have it or the instructions. Best regards Clive
