In my tournament (under Arena 1.1), I noticed that List512 has drawn several endgames which should have been definite wins. For example KQK, KRBK, KBNK are three that I have observed. So I created a KBNK test position in Arena and ran the demo mode, with List512 as the only engine (playing against itself). List512 seemed to be using the EGTB's, because it moved rapidly and forced the Black K into the proper corner. The only problem was that White would not make the final move to Checkmate. White made some other move that allowed black's king to move again. This continued until 50 moves and game was drawn. I tried the same experiment with Aristarch and W mated B in 31, as expected from this position. [d] 8/8/8/K1k4B/8/8/8/N7 w - - 0 1 Also I have tried this test for over 20 engines that support EGTB's, and all worked OK except List512. Do any CCC members know if I have made a configuration error or if this is a known problem with List512? Thank you, John
