this is known as the "strong wind from the east" position

other starting positions that appear on Ebay:

Classic Checkers ..(a piece on all of the same color leaving the other color
totally empty)
Bookends position(pieces are set up on a1..b8 and g1..h8)can be either color on
either side

Diagonal setup(pieces at lines up from a1..h8  and from h1..A8

Star set up
same as above but the seller  embellish's with a cross going from E1 or D 1...E8
or D8

there are others but space does not permit a complete listing
