I have yet to purchase a chess computer from a European seller, but there have been several I have been interested in. Much of my reluctance is because I have never purchased anything of significance from overseas, and am not familar with the process. I know that some of you have done this many times, and wondered if you had any words of advice on the subject. Stuff like, did you use surface or air shipping? Any problems with either, as far as damage goes? Is insurance available and is it available to a level high enough to cover the more expensive items? Have you ever had to file a claim? Does PayPal take care of all of the exchange rates? What do you do when the seller does not use PayPal? I am looking to buying a couple of larger chess computers, like an Impos Royale, Mephisto Munich, or Fidelity Elite, since they seem to be much more plentiful in Europe. Any answers to these, and any other advice, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dick Schneiders
