The chess engine in Apple's Chess.app used to be gnuchess, but they replaced it with the GPL version of Sjeng in OS X 10.3 (or was it 10.2?). I doubt that any of the regular readers of this forum would be happy with Chess.app, but of course there are several other chess programs (free and commercial) available. Tord
