Hi Kurt,

Sorry, yes I should put that in the PGN; all games still played at 40 moves in
2½ hours, then 20 moves in 1¼ hours. Intel Celeron 503 MHz, HT at 12 and 13 MB
as my total system-memory is only 64 Mb.

It is not state of the art computer but compared to what the tabletop Elites an
TASC R30's had, it is still like playing with a Deep Baby Blue , I mean, it
should be enough for playing good quality chess!

Round 9, also with Slav Defence, is just finished and I had already chalced that
down as two wins for Chess Tiger... Game one was a clear win for Tiger. But this
time time Chess Tiger really got into tremendous timetrouble in the second game,
15 minutes left for 15 moves before the second timecontrol at 60 moves and that
got steadily less.

Even though Tiger seemed to have an overwhelming pawn front, six pawns against
White two pawns but a piece up, Pro Deo gave the position a draw score. It
looked scary! But Pro Deo Betazoid managed a Houdini like escape, with Chess
Tiger having only seconds left for its last couple of moves, Betazoid managed to
invade the back ranks with Rook and Queen and actually win!

[D]6k1/3r1p2/1pp1p1pQ/p5P1/2n2q2/1R2N3/1PB5/1K6 w - -
(44.Bc2xg6)

A moment from the second game after 43 Ne5-c4, those black pawns look very
menacing. Betazoid gives back its extra piece now ignoring the double attack on
its knight. The Q5T settings analyzing in ECTool only play this move after
5'39", after switching from Nxc4 to Rc3 but then seeing that that move is losing
instantly. But actually I didn't give Betazoid T8 much chance here anymore to
save this game, even though Tiger had little time.

the game continued:
44.Bxg6 fxg6 45.Qxg6+ Kf8
46.Qh6+ Rg7 47.Rd3 Ne5 48.Qh8+ Kf7 49.Rd8 Qxg5 50.Rf8+ Ke7
51.Re8+ Kd7 52.Ra8 Kd6 53.Qf8+ Re7 54.Rd8+ Kc5 55.Nc2 Qg1+
56.Ka2 Qg7 57.Qf2+ Kb5 58.Qf1+ Kc5 59.Nd4 a4 60.b3 Qg5
61.Qf2 Rd7 1-0

So round 9 is a draw, with a win for both Chess Tiger and Pro Deo Betazoid.

After nine rounds Chess Tiger has 9.5 points, Pro Deo Betazoid 8.5 points.
