I may not have been quite clear in my previous reply to Bob. This should clarify
some points. Again, my apology for the incorrect game score. This is the right
score:

[Result "*"]
[MLNrOfMoves "19"]
[MLFlags "000000"]

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 g6 4. Bxc6 dxc6 5. d3 Bg7 6. h3 Qb6 7. Nc3 Qb4 8. O-O
Bxc3 9. a3 Qa5 10. bxc3 Qxc3 11. Rb1 Qa5 12. Bb2 f6 13. e5 f5 14. e6 Nf6 15. Qc1
b6 16. Re1 O-O 17. Qh6 c4 18. dxc4 Bxe6 19. Rxe6 Rf7 20. Ng5 *

and, on move 8, Black (Zchess 1.2) played Bxc3. Zarkov 5 plays 8...Nf6, not
bothering to capture the Knight, which is a good move. Other programs, among
them Crafty 16.0, according to Zchess's author Franck Zibi, tend to play the
same bad move, 8...Bxc3. More info, with comments by Franck Zibi, can be found
at http://www.forum64.com/. Here are some results obtained by Franck, presumably
on his AMD K6-300 (he didn't state this, but his computer is an AMD K6-300):

ZChess 1.2 Bxc3 ?? 11 +0.80
WChess 2000 Bxc3 ?? 11 +0.88
Crafty 16.0 Bxc3 ?? 12 +0.13
Chess Genius 6 Bxc3 ?? 8 -0.06
Fritz 5.0 Bxc3 ?? 11 -0.25
Zarkov 5 Nf6 ! :-) 6 -0.19

I still think that this position is very telling...
