Against a strong ordinary desktop computer i agree with you, but against Hydra i
am not so sure as they cannot prepare against it and all the human factor that
is part of the equation in these scenarios, such as the certainty that if they
only play for draws one little mistake is not reversable and they will have to
fighting for much longer than a human can really tolerate in terms of "keeping
it together" over a 6 games match where the computer has no such thought
processes.

Also gambling is in the human nature (atleast for most people) and i would be
very surprised if Adams has not already once thought that each time he draws he
loses 15.000$ and planned a strategy for that, 2 wins and one draw is worth the
same amount of money for him as 6 draws, they have really made some clever
decisions in terms of deviding the money as there is much more strategy that
comes into play when you do it this way, in other words more aspects that cater
to human frailty :)
