Hello Tony. "Ego" and "Ignorance" are the real problem. But not just the "ego" of top chessplayers, there are many kind of ego here: 1- The "ego" of the traditional or old orthodox chess concepts. 2- The "ego" of the tradicional sport journalist. 3- The "ego" of the tradicional chess federation. 4- The "ego" of the tradicional chess experts. 5- The "ego" of the tradicional computer experts. 6- The "ego" of the tradicional money power, hardware factories, etc. But there are too many "ignorance" here, becouse expert have builted a gigant mistake into comun people or lectors of the news. Chess engines are as a gigant dragon ...... If you are going to go at the combat against the dragon and you are going to attack the dragon doing what dragon know how to do, you are going to be lost. In this last way(doing what engines know how to do) is absolutly truth that engines have 3000 elo. There are not any GM in Earth that have any chance of oportunity in a match against Hydra Scylla playing the conventional or old orthodox chess concepts. But I doubt that there are any traditional expert that have the courage for publish and writte the other face of truth about the "state of art" on the battle "man vs machine", writting in an important magazine or News Paper modifing theirs old mistakes or concepts. I wonder if the last draw against Hydra scylla I played (last note) will be into a magazine, or if will be at lest one impotant journalist that put it into a News Paper. Eraser opening books wont be the soluction. Engines by itselft have the enough power calculation to being answering perfectly in conventional ways deduction. Best regards, Pablo Ignacio Restrepo
