It was relly enjoyable. Thanks for sharing it with us. Bob is clearly one of the most experienced people in this field and his programs have been always very strong. I always wondered if people like him would be willing also to discuss how computer chess advances could be useful to other fields of human activity. For example, I am interested in molecular biology. The recent availability of whole genomes of several organims of biomedical interest has compleytely changed our world. Now, my colleagues and I think very often in terms of computational approach to solve our problems. Given the size of the genomes we are analyzing, the computing approach needs to be very efficient (c language is very popular for our best applications) like in chess programs. May be Bob or someone else would care to comment on this?
