Having neither Shredder nor a Windows machine, I can't say for sure. Is it possible that both machines are connected on the same LAN? I've heard of some commercial applications that attempt chatter with other copies of themselves on the local net so that only one gets to run at a time. (Or more than one depending on the licensing sheme.)
