Those are the default settings, so presumably they were already set that way. In my experience the Shredder 9 system/.pl2 file does not work correctly. It doesn't remember prior analysis like it should. I've conducted tests, and mentioned this to the author and on this forum, but there has been no satisfactory response. It remembers "forward". So if you analyze a position for awhile then press the 'insert' key to make the move, it quickly starts calculating based on prior analysis. But it doesn't remember "backwards". So if you go forwards in the move tree then try to go back to a prior position, it forgets the prior analysis. There are only a few exceptions involving captures, in my tests. One would hope that after analyzing a position for several hours, as I do, that something of the analysis would be retained in the .pl2 file for later recall. But this is not the case. So it is a mystery to me why the author claims that this version is an improvement over Shredder 8 in that regard. Shredder 8 remembers better than Shredder 9 in that respect. WP
