A one hour per position analysis of the BWTC test suite has been made available for download: http://www.geocities.com/chessnotation/Analysis/BWTC-3600.epd.gz Of the 1001 positions, Symbolic's toolkit solved 995 and missed six. In 979 of the solved problems a forced mating sequence was located. In five of the six unsolved positions, the toolkit realized a clear advantage of from about 2 pawns upto 12+ pawns. The remaining unsolved position was BWTC.0640: [D] rn3rk1/pp3ppp/3b1n2/2pPq3/2B1P3/1NN2bP1/PPPQ1P1P/R1B2RK1 b - - 0 1 It looks like Black's Q+B+N attack on the kingside is deadly, but it seems that White can always come up with a defense. The evaluation for the above was about -1.7 pawns for Black.
