The reason is that the computers nowadays are too fast, because there´s a timer routine in the TurboPascal-unit ´Crt´ which crashes on modern CPUs. But every problem has a solution: :-) I have a small program that patches exactly those TurboPascal programs to run also on faster CPUs without this runtime error - I´ve just applied it to this Gandalf program and it works fine here! So if you are really interested in this old DOS program, I could send you my patched version by email ... Regards, Franz.
