Static evaluation in a quiet position is how the Analysis module works.

Weights are given, usually for Material first, then mobility,
rooks on open files, the 2 Bishop advantaqe, pawn structure, king safety,
and many others. These are programmed in.

The PV uses these to evaluate every possible move every iteration.

A high PV does "not" mean a winning position; it means for that 1/2 Ply
the evaluation is for that particular position. 1/2 Ply later, the situation
can change dramatically.

Example:

Here the Engine shows a very high PV!

Does it mean White will Win?

Of course not, the Position is a Draw.

My point again.. and I have Posted it several times.

"If your Engine cannot find the Mate; you can spin your hard drive for weeks
and it doesn't matter. You cannot rely on a "Static Eval" in a quiet
position.
