It would probably beat Gorbachev, and that might not be good publicity.

Karpov is a close friend of one of the professors at Bethany, the liberal arts
school.  The professor is also from Russia and a chess player.  This is why
Karpov chose Lindsborg to locate his first U.S. based school.

Because of this, Lindsborg almost became the next home of the USCF.  Lindsborg
lost by a single vote, to a city in Tennessee.  This actually might have been a
good thing for our area, not to have them here.  :-)
