The one that comes to mind is the WCCC 1995 championship between M-Chess and
HIARCS. No opening books were allowed but M-Chess had a hidden opening book
inside, in fact, it had HIARCS Killer Books, M-Chess made 38 moves in less than
one second, when it came out of opening book it was way ahead and won the
tournament.

I bought M-Chess in those days because it won the tourney and it cost me CDN$
199.00

There was big money in computer chess in those days, now M-Chess has
disappeared, Hirsch doesn't even let us download it as a WinBoard engine !!
