Tinker 64 bit speed up on Opteron is about 25% (some non-rotated bitboards). IIRC, Crafty speedup is about 40% (full bitboards). Non-bitboard programs will show less improvement IMO, but I doubt that any program would be significantly slower with 64 bits.
