Congrats Dick! >The Chess Challenger that I recently bought on eBay with a Buy It Now for $14.95 >arrived today and it is a CC1, as I suspected. No box, but the pieces and >manual were included. and as i suspected as well ..if you will remember i noticed the numbers going across the bottom even more amazing then the price you paid is that you got it already?? what was that.. 2 days?? did you fly there and back to get it? :)) > >Here is a partial list of known serial numbers that was posted on Ismenio's >forum a few weeks ago. Just For the record.. the idea to put together a list of the CC1 Serial numbers originated with Karsten Bauermeister a top Collector From Germany. he asked those collectors who owned a CC1 to supply him with the serial numbers he made that request about 1.5-2 years ago on Kurt's site and it was also on Kurt's site where the initial list was first published The serial number on this newest CC1 is 4035. These >serial numbers don't seem to have any particular pattern, but does anybody know >if the lower numbers mean earlier production dates? That would seem to make >sense. > after Bauermeister made his request and initial compiliation of the numbers it was concluded that there was little if any rationale behind the numbering of the units the numbers range from 4-6 digits i am fairly certain the numbers were randomly assigned of course its possible that some pattern will show as the list grows Historically Accurate Regards Steve
