Everyone who registered with Playchess back then received lifetime membership to Playchess. Later on Chessbase realised they'd been too generous, and they only give one year's membership with the serial numbers in their products. I thought they might go back on their word and my Playchess membership would expire, but no, it's still valid after all these years. But I'm a regular Chessbase customer, and every new engine I buy has a new serial number with a year's membership that I'll never need. Would Chessbase object to me giving away or even selling my unused serial numbers?
