Well I am done with the match against the cosmos. I won 4.5-3.5 with four
wins, one draw and three losts. No lines were repeated and though time
controls were changed in the middle of the match it was for the most part
a fair contest ie. no takebacks. The last four games were played at 1 hr 30 mins
as I felt that I needed more time (I was in time trouble almost all of the
games and that problem resulted in a draw with a pawn up and a lost), All in
all I learned alot about my chess and this fine portable. One thing that I
learned is that even if you are in a good position you should not start
relaxing and taking mental vacations. computers don't have feelings and will
fight to the end even if in seemingly hopeless positions. So don't be lazy.
Also don't bother playing long games late at night, the computer is not
as tired as you are. I guess I could have played better but I didn't so I
will not make any excuses for my poor play. I'm not posting any of the games
as this would add insult to injury but I would like to say that I think that
if the cosmos had a better opening book like that of rebel and more hash
tables for endgames it would be alot stronger maybe better than novags
sapphire II.
