Each virtual machine still runs on one computer and still uses the same
resources. In terms of performance, it will be actually slower since now there
is one more extra software in memory taking up cycles and resources - Virtual
PC. It is therefore, less useful than simply multitasking (for chess at least).

If you think about it, the 'virtual machine' is another kind of multitasking.
