The master in this match clearly counted on the computers greed and poor defensive skills to win.Nowadays programmes are too clever to fall for traps as obvious as 9...Qxc7 For example I replayed the game with Rebel 9 (pentium mmx166 level 3 minutes per move ave) and it followed all the moves up until 8... 0-0. Instead of 9...Qxc7 Rebel 9 plays 9...d5 which enables it to stop the threatened mate and retain the material advantage. Whether the master would have found something else to maintain his attack is beyond my ken.Perhaps someone out there might also look at the game and find something that refutes d5 cheers allan
