You are right. Besides we can add that intelligence of the class that makes
academics, writers, artists, scientists or whatever is not a mere ability to
make calculations, but a capacity to graps patterns in some fields, sometimes
just in one.
I could add that perhaps with age that capacity is increasingly allocated into
that specific field that is yours. So you get better and smater in yours
endeavour and lose some  acumen in others.
Could it be so?
