WCSAC is full of errors. don't bother with it! the errors are more often than
not that many moves win. in this position, Nxe4 is fine, based on the following,
beautiful line:

1.Nc3xe4 Nc5xe4 2.Re2xe4 Nf6xe4 3.Re1xe4 Qc6xe4 4.Nf3-g5 Qe4-g6 5.Qh4xh7+ Qg6xh7
6.Ng5-f7#

[D] 6rk/1b3Nrq/8/p7/8/1P6/PBP5/K7 b - - 1 6

of course, black can play 4.... Re8 or 3... Qd7 or something else - he will lose
in all cases. the reasoning in WCSAC is very often that the side under attack
grabs all material, as his position is hopeless otherwise. remember that it was
written in a time where there were no computers to help reinfeld! i still think
it's a classic, every serious chess player should work through it. but for
computers, you should use ECMGCP rather than anything else.
