I chose the "Max" personality of Chessmaster 6000 as a higher rated opponent to play my chess program against. It eats my program for lunch and then to add injury to insult, it only uses 11 seconds of think time verses my programs 6 or 7 minutes. I like the fact that Max is fast as testing time is reduced, but I hate the fact that it beats my program using only 3% of the time. Does anybody know if "Max" uses alpha-beta pruning? Larry :-(
