Thank you again.

I tried your site but it was not playing the game tonight.

I want to catalog all engines, not just the ones we spoke about.

It may help authors to fix little things that seem odd, as I found.

I think we found that the count is wrong in Arasan for example (always one less
than it should be. It may be that it was the curve ball it was thrown and not
the engine itself.

The positions that we have developed are somewhat wild but are intended to be
so.

They are intended to see not only similarities but also to see the limitations
and upper limits of the engines.

There appears not to be any hard and fast qualitative analysis in this area.

By doing this we hope to see by working backwards from analysis how engines
improve (or maybe not) with each modification, and thereby know what is useful
and what is not. There seem only to be rather blunt rating lists out there at
the moment, which although interesting do not really compare like with like.

I wonder if there is a way to analyse propriortory formats (such as ChessBase)
in an environment that allows for illegal positions. That may be later on
although. There is quite enough out there to be going on with just now.

You have been a great help.

It is much appreciated.

:-)

Regards

Christopher
