I think you are correct that this game was human-only, but I don't think it was
a trick to get rating points: Both games were unrated ("partida amistosa," see
PGN header). While the 2nd game is full of evals/depths for Crafty's moves, and
says [BlackElo "2613"] as the comps rating, the 1st game has only the thinking
times each and 1615 Elo only. No indication anywhere of Crafty or another engine
in that PGN.
An obvious misunderstanding...
It is possible to play human-human in Playchess' engine room too, when both
opponents didn't switch to computer mode!
