I purchased Shredder 9 UCI via download. It comes with its own GUI and since it
is a UCI engine, you can use it in the ChessBase Fritz 8 GUI (or Junior or
Hiarcs ...) just fine. The only hitch is that the opening book that comes with
S9 UCI is a wonderful book by Sandro Necchi (hope I spelled that right) and it
CANNOT be used in any way with the ChessBase GUIs -- it can only be used in the
Shredder 9 interface that comes with the program you download.

So, S9 UCI runs in the ChessBase F8 GUI with some other opening book you build
or you can use the F8 book or ...
