The real greed here is on the part of the program CD duplicators, who can rip any software company profits to shreds. True, they can't force MS into bankruptcy, but the sums lost are HUGE. In both cases, the individual CD type that you're trying to get upgraded, is the format type that the CD program duplicators would have. In both cases, they would rather piss off several such as yourself, than face the losses from the duplicators. If you want to emply the biblical method here, keep knocking on their door. (and work your requests up the company ladder) They may find it easier to upgrade you than to keep hearing the knocking. Particularly so, if you can give them incontestable evidence that your programs are NOT dupes. What does your licensing agreement with MS state regarding upgrading? Dave P.S. As a last resort on MS, try getting a used pre-installed hard drive from an old computer. Might be able to get that pretty cheaply.
