Microsoft was guilty as charged, so what do you expect from them. But there are certainly advantages from having a dominant O/S i.e. Windows, no matter how that position was attained, and most people are happy enough with the result anyway. I'd love to run Linux say, but then I wouldn't have all my chessbase sofware for example
