It seems that it should be easy to write a program to let Fritz or Shredder spend 2 minutes on each node where there is a choice starting from the beginning of the tree and automatically put in an evaluation at the Chessbase factory before shipping the Powerbook. This could be continously done 24 hours a day and the ChessBase people could sell the books based on 2 things that are updated: new GM lines and new evaluations deeper in the book. So they could advertise LATEST BOOK UP TO DATE AS OF JUNE 2005 and ALL move nodes annotated to 20 ply The next year they could advertise all move nodes annotated to 25 ply and so on.
