 Pretty insane values for hard disks, divide by ten. Slower rotation speed means
that the data is read/written slower. Access times ar higher. That is if the
drives are equal except for rpms. The positive is that slower drives usually are
less needy in wattage.

 The use of virtual memory is faster with faster drives. Read/write trashing on
a slow drive is hell. But slower drives mean longer battery life to enjoy.

 I have no knowledge about the 915 chipset. But there are a lot of things that
can make a difference like power saving modes, unified memory architecture, lack
of native command queueing ...

 Choosing a crappy chipset will definitely bork the system.

 The Pentium M 7xx should be equal except in core speed and energy consumtion.
