Michael, the main difference in short: Wilhelm lets you use existing tablebases, for example the Nalimov Tablebases (it can use some others as well) and build statistics on them, search for special feautures in the databases. With Freezer you can build databases on your own, databases that match your position's requirements. So you don't look up in existing ones, but generate new ones. You can then examine these new generated ones and use them to analyse your chess position.
