I think it's not bad. It has a bit more focus on sound and video than you really need for chess, and a bit less processor speed. If you want to focus just on chess you might be able to save some money on lower-level sound and video and apply it to upgrading the processor speed. Nonetheless, it's a good all-around system, and if the price is right it'll work well. If it's available there and you're purely interested in chess, your best bet might be (at least from HP) the HP Pavilion zv6000 with the Athlon 64 3800+ processor. Battery life may be a bit short, and it may be rather large, but I think it'll be the fastest chess laptop you can get for reasonable money. Paul
