This is the main improvement, all the others are much less important. 2. optimizations (20% faster) 3. 2 changes to the evaluation that made Gromit more aggressive 4. removing some small bugs Optimizing can cause bugs but in this case I found bugs, because when replacing old code with optimized new code I sometimes didn't get identical searchresults. And more than once the optimized code was correct and the old code was broken. Fixing bugs is really the best improvement and (as the 8th IPCCC shows for Gromit) playing tournaments is a good way of finding them (round 6). Frank
