I tried both. Without function calls and with function calls. It is sure, that
function calls are very slow. But my compiler makes optimizations. After tuning
all optimization Parameters, the last Version was 3 times faster than the
original version without optimization. And with all the optimization, it does
not ,matter, if I use function call or not.
But thats only with my program and my compiler (Watcom 11)
