Are they upgrading an older version of the King program in a dedicated unit? I don't know about collectibility, but I can understand why people would be motivated to get all of the upgrades through whatever means possible. I guess that it's not enough of a market for someone to get the rights to market officially sanctioned copies though. Too bad. Have you made backups of some of your more precious EPROMs? I would be worried about some of the older ones going bad. I remember studying semiconductor physics in college and becoming worried about their longetivity. But this goes for everything modern it seems. Meanwhile the clay tablet chess computers keep on ticking ;-) I'm now dealing with deep submicron chips, and if you say that you want a chip to run 24/7 for 10 years it makes vendors more than a little nervous. -Keith
