well the books are also made for black, you know, so this
wouldnt make such a difference.

uh, 2345 minus 2253 actually is 92 rating points; not 20..
you seem to be reasoning out of your own conviction that
chess is a draw; this is not hundred percent certain yet.

but i agree the CCT7 sample is too small to draw
conclusions; also not all the engines were quite strong.

PS in any case chess will not be a win in 73 moves or
so, like posted as an example by James Walker.
with perfect defence it obviously will be a much
much longer game. and then again, i suspect
that the 50 move rule will enhance blacks drawing chances.
ok, such are the human/fide rules, but there would
be nothing against an engine disregarding this
in his egtb analysis, and just trying to
get a win anyway, or eg. announcing something
like mate in 76, without any captures or so.
up to the opponent then to try to complete
the 50 moves..

Jef
PS tried to find some unequal bishop 6 men endgames
to get an idea about the theory, but may of
the tables i needed were not available yet.
bishop + two pawns against 'other bishop': drawish, but
then again, white might be able to avoid such an endgame.

PS2 while Pable and Nemeth are anti-computer players, in
some fundamental sense i am interested in anti-human
chess, ie. perfect play. while current theory and
common GM opinion are saying that such defences
as Petrov, closed Ruy Lopez, etc. are drawish, i
am not convinced of that, and while gradully
improving my book, i continously find new
and better lines for white, even although it's a tedious
exercise and getting more difficult over time.
So as soon as i will hit a brick wall, and won't be
able to make more improvements, i'll stop with
with this bookmaking hobby and declare conventional
chess a draw. ok, maybe i'll owe you a beer then..
:)
