Hmm... Indeed: Kasparov had to beat Karpov to become World Champion. Gaining
many Elo points wouldn't have been sufficient, so you might be right, in a
sense...

But I suppose in a long line of games it will prove it's worthiness also against
the R30/R40 units. Maybe this is the only one we'd need to test more thoroughly,
since the other computers won't be too dangerous for the RR. Unfortunately I
don't have much time to do that on my own but I'm sure the guys on
schachcomputer.info will play hundreds of games (against the R30) to test that
conjecture... ;)
