I am not describing a startup situation with Shredder9. It is a situation caused
by other programs. Sometimes depending on what other programs you run at the
same time, unless you shut down Shredder9 and restart it will crawl because of
hard disk access for the hash table. There is one other choice. Resize the hash
table but this takes almost as long as shutting down and restarting and is a
ridiculous choice because you are then left with a lower hash size. My technique
of shutting down and restarting solves the problem and has the advantage of
maintaining the large hash table without hard disk access.
