For my tastes, the green and white board is preferred. I have not played the machine, so I can't say anything about its strength. I believe it was advertised with a 2200 Elo and I suspect one should apply the usual post-marketing descaling adjustment. For what it's worth, I think that Excalibur has a good idea here: the first relatively inexpensive dedicated unit with full size board and pieces. Perhaps the strength of dedicated models that have small boards and poorly designed pieces is due in part to their esthetic distance from usual tounament equipment.
