Good. So do I.

>Who complied this list?
The original authors compiled the subfiles, which I collected together into one
big pile.

It is supposed to be the best move. Sometimes there is more than one. Shrug.

>Who produced the "solutions"?
Super smart chess guru guys and GM's who write chess books.

>What do you mean by pv and ce?
The pv is the preferred variation. This is what we "expect" will happen -- or
what we are considering as the current plan.
The ce is the centipawn evaluation. This is an estimate, in hundredths of a
pawn, of our current circumstances. If it is negative, then we are behind. If
it is positive then we are ahead. Values of greater than 32000 indicate
checkmates are coming.

>Please use less jargon
I can't I did not write the EPD spec. That was Steven J. Edwards. It's a
wonderful thing and I am very glad of it. I know of no better way to compile
computer analysis.

>Are the problems compiled to test chess computers?
Both computers and people use EPD.

Read about it in here:

You will be especially interested in section 16.2 "EPD"
