There's the Ing Prize (http://senseis.xmp.net/?IngPrize), offering about $1.4M
for a program capable of beating a strong player (trainee professional I think).
It's not clear whether this is still available. The prize you mention, however,
sounds like something different: the Ing prize doesn't have any hardware
limitations that I know of.
