Not sure why they chose Adams, but it creates some interesting possibilities. People have argued that Hydra is stronger than Deep Blue, and we know Adams is weaker than Kasparov. So what does it mean if Adams beats Hydra? Probably means that Kasparov's loss really was just a fluke, that he freaked himself out, that with experience the best humans are better than the best silicon. On the other hand, if Adams loses, it doesn't mean anything, since there are stronger players. Roger
