Why not? They're playing chess, and chess is complex, if there's an advantage in the position, at some point it doesn't matter if you've 2 or 200 processors. You may expect from a superGM to have a very deep understanding and to be able to carry out an advantage he may get. If he has a good day anyway. (Also, if he is impressed by the Hydra-numbers, he will probably not win, but if he puts the machine in perspective, (and be a little prepared) he has a lot of chances.) Besides processingpower the computer has a lot of other variables, like book. Even I as a 1800 can often come out of the opening well against engines with a (standart)book. Even against a well tuned book you may expect someone 1000 Elo stronger to be able to crush something like Hydra once in a while. :) No matter if the opponent does a billion nps.
